Re: Preempting GPF Issues?

My strategy will be to always use branded fuel, add some Redex to each tankful when using E10 and add the occasional tankful of E5. In addition, when on a long run, try the 4000 revs in sports mode with the five second overrun every so often. That would be my plan too although I’d use a different a...

Re: (Automatic) gear selector issue?

My first thought, ‘CoffeBean’, is to ring the dealer to book it in ASAP. If they can’t fit you in for weeks ahead, begin the process of rejecting the car. The reason is that, as things stand, the vehicle is not fit for purpose. A bit extreme? Not when you have spent the thick end of £40K on a car th...

Re: Strange grinding/vibrating sound

We recently took ownership of our 71 plate tucson. Welcome to the forum, ‘Lloydyboy’. You have omitted to state which specific model in the range this query relates to but a little more information would help potential responders here. For example, does this sound occur only while the Climate Contr...

Re: Alarm / Immoboliser

If the Tucson's Alarm & Immobiliser are rated as "Category 1", then I'm not overly impressed by Thatcham's testing :!: . The alarm is about as loud as my mobile phone and far too many Tuscons have gone missing for anyone to be impressed by the 'immobiliser' I’m bound to say tha...

Re: Preempting GPF Issues?

As I tend to mainly do short journeys I suspect I'm a prime candidate to suffer a clogged filter, so I think I'll adopt a policy of higher revs from time to time when the engine is truly warmed up and then just keep my fingers crossed 🙂 I would suggest that you use E5 rather than E10 fuel, perhaps ...

Re: Alarm / Immoboliser

Hi ‘Raiders66’. Just state that it has a factory-fitted alarm/immobiliser and you’ll be telling no lies. Whether or not it is a Thatcham-approved device is of no concern to we mortals although most such systems are. Whether it is or isn’t won’t appreciably alter your overall premium; at least, not i...

Re: Speed Limit Assist(how does it work)

Don't forget that a speed limit is just that, it's not a target. so I can't see why you would expect the car to automatically accelerate up to the limit. It can't determine what the prevailing road conditions are - is it wet, covered in snow etc so it would be unwise for the car to accelerate just ...

Re: Bluelink Scheduled Charging issues

All seems to be well now with the charging actually taking place at the prescribed time and the recommendation about ‘Yeoman’s is there for anyone who might encounter the same problem.

Onwards and upwards hopefully from now on! ‘KevinBattle’!

Re: Newbie with shelf scratches on 2025 HEV

I scratched mine with a fingernail just by placing my phone on there. Welcome to the forum, ‘Glynovitch’. I can’t remember any complaints previously about the susceptibility to scratching of that material but it is disappointing to learn that it isn’t as hardwearing as we would like. I’m sure if ot...
