Just got a safety recall letter for my NX4 - side curtain airbag inspection -31DC11. Appears side curtain airbags may not fully inflate in a collision due to incorrect assembly. Needs half hour inspection and 3 hours work if required. Dealer wants car for a day and may have to go back if work required. Told me they would have to photograph parts and send to Hyundai for approval if replacement is necessary.

Had mine checked yesterday whilst in for service. It was concluded the cables were not twisted (presumably the issue) and hence the harness did not warrant replacing.

There was a side curtain recall in the early days of the NX4.

HYUNDAI TUCSON (2020 – 2021) – THE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG
12/07/2021
HYUNDAI TUCSON (14/10/2020 – 15/04/2021) RECALL: Problem description: The side curtain airbag could potentially be assembled in a twisted condition.

Current recall is power rear power windows.

HYUNDAI TUCSON (2023-03-07 – 2023-04-05) RECALL:

Problem description:

Certain Tucson vehicles equipped with rear door power windows may experience a malfunction of the anti-pinch function during its operation.

REMEDY
Both left-hand and right-hand rear door power window regulator motors will be replaced.

Sometimes recalls only effect certain batches of vehicles. The airbag recall from 2021 had a list of VIN numbers of cars effected along with the dates the cars were built. Your 2024 recall is obviously a different recall and perhaps a different issue. The power windows issue, again, looks like it effects cars built in 2023 between certain dates, so owners may get a recall letter in due course. I had a recall done during 1st service and I never did receive a notification. The second 'recall' on my car was to give me an update to the user manual.
