I am having a few issues with my Premium1.6 Hybrid Tuscon (2021)
1) Occasionally even tought the car in on D the gear doesn't seem to engage properly and the car won't move. I need to switch the car off to solve the issue but then get a "shifting system error" message, which normally disappear after a while on its own.
2) the engine management light comes on and off. It has been on pretty much continously since for the last 10 days with the exception of 1 day. When I take it to the dealer (Hutchings in Swansea), they are too busy to look at it and I need to book the car in. Now that the car is booked, the light is off and they will charge me to look at the car as, "There is no issue"!
Has anybody else had the same problems?

Make sure you gather evidence of this fault - photos of dashboard messages and lights. If you have these, then you're not asking them to "look to see if there's a fault", you're asking them to "fix the fault you've got, under the agreed warranty contract"). If you end up having to pay to make progress, you can always try and claim it back from Hyundai / the dealer. If there's any opportunity to write "Paid under duress", do so (it'll make you feel better, if nothing else
)
Probably worth speaking to Hyundai
Do you have another dealership within travelling distance?

That’s where I bought my car and it’s one of the worst dealers in the uk, they never answer the phone and when they do they never get back to you, they want everything to be booked on line. The car is a good car but the after service has put me off getting a other one when my lease is up next summer.

Thanks @philHornby, that is really good advice. I took pictures of the lights on the dashboard when they were on. Forgot to add in original message that they told me the fact the light were on was the car telling me everything was working well!!
I read the reviews but too late unfortunately. Shame I like the car but they are the only dealer around. @ joolstdi My PCP contract is up in 12 months but I might go to Kia (more or less the same manufacturer but different dealer).

The "PCP contract" aspect may introduce some other complications or opportunities!
See this Financial Ombudsman Service "Case Study": https://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/decisions-case-studies/consumer-complains-problems-new-car-two-years-car-wasnt-satisfactory-quality
It's not quite the same scenario, but at the very least, I would have thought that it indicates that the Finance Company have some sort of obligation to help you get it fixed. Currently, you're paying them for a vehicle that is faulty. I wonder what their attitude would be, if the fault is still there when the vehicle is returned.
Have a poke around the rest of the Financial Ombudsman website, and also the Motor Ombudsman site and "Resolver".
It's always worth seeking advice from Trading Standards as well.
As a Man on the Clapham omnibus, if I was in your position, I would expect a fault like that to be attended to with some urgency!
