Hi I have received a few emails from Hyundai detailing their accident excess voucher (for £250), which presumably encourages you to go with an Hyundai approved garage for an accident repair.
Has anyone used the voucher scheme and are there any unexpected repercussions as a consequence?

I remember seeing those emails - but I can't remember what they were offering. I went with ALA ; a discount code for which, is available via this very forum
The Discount Code given by the forum link (https://www.tucsonforums.co.uk/gap) only mentions 'gap' insurance, but I'm sure it would also work for 'Excess Insurance' (use my link above).

Although I don’t know the details of the accident excess voucher offer to which you refer, on the basis of my previous experience with 'Hyundai First’, or whatever they are called today, in 2013 following a serious act of vandalism to my i40 Tourer, I would strongly recommend owners to steer well clear of any scheme claiming that just one phone call will resolve everything for you.
As a result of taking up the ‘Hyundai First’ offer, the complete opposite of their claim is what actually happened in reality. The exercise was a complete nightmare, causing me to have to deal with my own insurer as well as the ‘Hyundai’ people. Sheer aggravation from beginning to end, causing me to swear ’Never again!’.
As an aside, while I was in the KIA camp, I required to have some body damage repaired and discovered that several well-respected bodyshops local to me were not on my insurer's list of approved repairers and I was told that I could take my car anywhere I pleased but there would be no courtesy car provided. As many of you may well know, lots of bodyshops keep a small fleet of courtesy cars so I was happy to take advantage of that facility, rather than allow my insurer’s recommended repairer to f**k up a body repair as they had done with cars of a couple of friends.
I came to the conclusion that for ‘Recommended Repairer’, just read ‘cheapest’.
As a retired member of the body repair profession, I can add some meat to the bones of this post.
Many insurers now have a select few repairers that will only use consumables (paints, lacquers, abrasives etc), that are approved by the insurers. The main reason being (my belief), the insurers are in bed with the manufacturers and get 'kickbacks'.
Imho insurance in the automotive sector is as close to a 'controlled monopoly' as you can get.
That is my opinion only! No court cases thanks.
