The keyless entry theft issue led me down a rabbit hole of research, so once and for all heres the info you 2023 onward owners are looking for.
To turn off keyless entry and reduce the risk of "relay theft", go to your manual chapter 5 page 9. At the page top you can read how to make the car unresponsive to keyless entry.
Lock the car using the key fob remote. Press lock again and while holding that lock button also press and hold unlock. Hold the two buttons for 4 seconds.
The car will now not respond to keyless entry and must be opened using the key fob buttons.
This process must be repeated each time you want to stop keyless entry, as when you open the car it resets to respond to keyless entry.
I find the process easy and very convenient. Sadly I have no idea when the tucson got this facility, but I hear it was earlier in 2023
Keyless entry turn off 2023 tucson how to.
Many thanks for that information, ‘Gibson’.
While it’s undoubtedly useful, l prefer the Faraday protection method of deterring those clever thieves with the ability to gain entry via their magic box of tricks. I’m pretty sure that the bright yellow arm of my stoplock also adds a degree of discouragement, hopefully sufficient to encourage potential thieves to pick an easier target.
2023 Tucson Hybrid (HEV) Ultimate; ordered 12/05/23 - collected from dealership 07/06/23.
This subject has been covered in detail previously in other posts. The feature is not limited to the 2023 cars as its on all NX4 models with keyless entry. It does not disable keyless start and only the locking mechanism on the doors.
A very long post which covers this and other stuff below:

Remember that the key fob also goes to sleep (as it says in the manual) if not moved after an amount of time so a relay type attach would not work anyway. I've tested this, like a few other owners, and indeed after approx 5mins my fob went to sleep and I could not get in the car. Simply moved the fob and I could open the car.

As per the 'very long post', the timeout is very close to the three minute mark. The accelerometer in the fob is exceedingly sensitive and even house doors being closed can wake it up. So far as I can ascertain, it goes back to sleep again three minutes later, in this scenario.DotDotDotDot wrote: ↑Thu Dec 28, 2023 4:16 pm A very long post which covers this and other stuff below:

However - and this is reproducible - the timeout mechanism will sometimes fail to operate, if the car was not locked using the Fob button. This occurs about every 1 in 7 ish times, I would say (though I only have two fobs to test with).
