Now that I’ve had my Tucson nearly a year, I think that I have more negatives than positive feelings owning it.
I share driving with my wife who is considerable shorter than me so every time I get in to drive after her, the seat squashes me against the steering wheel until I change the profile
When I get in my profile settings on the dash are lost.
The heating controls are not set to my profile and often don’t come on when I get in.
My mpg is about 43mpg, mainly city driving.
Disappointed by the lack of use of Ev power.
Legroom in back is very poor behind me when I’m driving.
Lane keeping system seems to find invisible lines at times and pulls on the steering wheel when not expecting it.
I bought a tech pack but remote parking function does not always work and blind spot cameras a waste of time.
Can’t move car without wearing seat belt irritating when want to move car 4 yards to be outside my house.
However,
Car drives very smoothly.
Comfortable driving on long journeys
Rear warnings when people or cars behind you when reversing useful.

Overall I think when I change cars I’ll try a different car.

I think that maybe you expect too much from the car and are blaming it for your own shortcomings.
With any car, there will be a system that we will devise to make the car our own.

In the order you wrote your post.
I don't have electric seat movement, but I do have a shorter wife who uses the car, so before exiting the car, my wife pushes the seat right back to enable easy entry for me. If you have separate seat settings, get your wife to enter yours before exiting the car - it's not hard.

You have the hybrid, so unfortunately you suffer the loss of profiles and A/C. There's no way round this I'm afraid and the reason it happens is because the 12V battery gets depleted when the car isn't being driven. If after you've turned off the ignition and exited the car you then open doors, boot etc, the 12V battery will deplete quickly, but if the car is left untouched between locking and unlocking, you will experience profile loss much less. Let's be honest though, how many seconds does it take to re-enter your settings ?
No idea why Hyundai designed their system this way and it is very mildly annoying, but I certainly wouldn't look at other cars because of it.

43mpg is pretty good for mainly town driving and echoes mine.

The EV mode is there mainly to massage mpg figures for the manufacturer, same as the MHEV version. Forget about it and just let it do its thing. I bought the HEV for the extra BHP it gives over the more standard models. If you do mainly town driving and want more electric propulsion, you bought the wrong car. Either the PHEV version of the Tucson or a full electric car would suit you better, assuming you have charging facility.

If there's not enough legroom behind you, then you didn't do your research before buying and therefore you bought the wrong car.

Lane Assist is an abomination IMO and afflicts other makes as well. Mine gets switched off at the start of every journey at the same time as I activate Auto Hold - it takes 3 seconds.

I steered clear of the tech pack because there was nothing in it that warranted the extra cost for me.

You CAN move the car without wearing the seatbelt. Either reach in and plug in the seat belt before sitting in your seat, or once in the seat release the parking brake manually - try it.
I got shouted down for pointing this out in another thread, but it can be useful to know.

Enjoy the car, it's a good bit of kit and stands up well against other makes/models in the same price bracket.

Lane Keep Assist is an ancient system, that the EU insists must be enabled by default. Hyundai can't be arsed changing the default for the UK. It is pretty useless and just 'bounces' off the left and right carriageway markings (real or imaginary!)

Lane Follow Assist is a much more competent system, using exactly the same hardware to keep you centred in the lane. If it is unsure of the lane markings, it disengages - unlike LKA which just hallucinates.

So - long press the Steering Wheel button to turn off LKA and short-press it to turn on LFA, should you feel the need.
