Hi,

I have a 2022 Tucson Hybrid. I downloaded the Navigation update installer and used a 128GB USB drive to copy the latest map update. However, when I tried to install the software in the car, I received an error message saying, "No media files available". I've tried downloading and installing it multiple times, but I'm not sure what I might have missed. Could you please help me with this?

I got that nearly immediately after I put the USB stick into the car(2023) and I figured I would head to Setup and go to the Software Update page and press "Update" so long as it was not greyed out(If greyed out it cannot see a local update file, when not greyed out one is available). When I arrived at the screen it is like it pressed update by itself and the update began. I choose "update when vehicle is off" and headed back inside the house. Maybe 45 mins later my bluelink notified me it was finished.

Did you format the USB stick as ex-Fat?

No media files available"
Did you actually check whether the download to your USB drive had actually worked before trying to load it into the car ?

Hi and welcome to the forum, ‘asraja111’.

I see no point in questioning what you may or may not have done that made the downloaded files fail to transfer on to the infotainment unit.

That said, you need to go back to the beginning, read the instructions carefully and make sure you start at the beginning. Forget about formatting the USB drive as the system does it for you as part of the process. As for the 128 Gb drive, that really is overkill and while it should do the job, ok, a 64Gb one is more suitable.

It’s important not to rush through the steps, even though you state you have tried numerous times. As part of the process prior to actually downloading the files, there is an option to select where you would like the files deposited. You may find that you need to select a destination on your computer, but there should be the opportunity to select the USB drive just a step or two after that. Once you have initiated the download, it takes forever to actually do anything but eventually, the progress bar will begin to show you just what a slow process this update is. After that, it’s just a case of being patient and disturbing nothing until the programme informs you that the download is complete.

You can check the USB drive to ensure the files are present and if you click on each folder, it should reveal that there is information there.

On connecting with the infotainment unit, you may find again that nothing seems to happen for an eternity, then suddenly the process of file transfer begins. About 35 mins later, the infotainment should show a message informing you that the exercise has been completed.

I’m sure you know most of all that butI find it best to park my laptop out of the way somewhere once the initial download commences and I just stay off the damned thing until the job in hand has finished.

Good luck with your next attempt. Never say die!

I mentioned that my button to unlock didn't work after the upgrade. Well, it happened again today. So, I've changed the battery and it all seems OK now.

I can’t remember the size but I’m fairly sure a 32Gb USB drive can accommodate the download. Other forum members may simply have used whatever they had available indoors. In my case, it was a 64Gb SanDisk stick.

One thing that some have overlooked in the past when attempting a download is to check the storage available on their computer. Should it be the case that there is only say, 15Gb free space left on the disk, (and I stand to be corrected here), then the download will not be possible, regardless of the size of the USB destination drive.
