New Map & Software update 24
It's hardware dependent. If you don't have the proper hardware in your car, they won't be able to give you that feature through a software update.craigfeguson wrote: ↑Fri Aug 16, 2024 12:29 pm Still no wireless android auto unlike the USA

From what I understood on the pre-facelift Tucson just some lower-spec versions include the necessary hardware for the wireless Android Auto to work. It's a weird choice, but the higher-spec versions don't include that hardware.
For info when attempting a download:
I've performed all the downloads available in the 2.5 years I've had my car with no glitches at all.
This time when I plugged my memory stick into the car I opted for it to happen when the car was switched off, rather than when the ignition is on.
Sometime later Bluelink told me the download had failed. I have read since that this can occur if there's not enough charge in the 12V battery to finish the sequence and as I know the battery didn't have a full charge, I assume that's what caused the failure.
I haven't had the opportunity since to retry the download whilst driving, but I assume it will work next time.
I have the HEV version in which a quickly depleting battery is common.

Today, I utilised my USB drive with the Gen 5 update files on SWMBO’s Bayon - same Gen 5 system. At the option point, I wasn’t quite sure whether or not to risk doing the job after switch off so I decided to do it with engine running.
The installation was performed without a hitch and took very similar time as on my Tucson.
That aside, I tested SWMBO’s Faraday pouch for integrity and it did the job perfectly as I was unable to open the doors via a button push on the handle. Bizarrely, the door mirrors opened out on my approach and closed themselves on my departure. Unable to grasp what was going on, I switched to my pouch, repeated the experiment and that produced the same result.
Unconnected with that issue, I was curious to discover whether the button press sequence to disable keyless entry would work on her car as it does on my Tucson. The answer was yes! The door mirrors, however, did their own thing again as I mentioned.
As for the content of the update, when I read what was contained in the files, the message was exactly the same as on the Tucson.

Update completed with ignition on.
Size of update and time to download will vary each time depending on info contained wihin it.
That's why Hyundai recommend using a 64GB memory stick.
This download took approx 25 mins in the car.
Like pharaoh I too chose the update when off option & saw the Bluelink update failure message - however there were no error messages on the nav screen, in fact it showed a screen about the new changes! A quick check on the Setup/Systems settings screen confirm all maps/software are on the latest versions, so the Bluelink error message must be a bug….?

Definitely not a bug in my case, the system didn't update as evidenced by the fact my screen said the last update took place last January and unlike you, I got no info about what the update contained.DocD wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2024 11:19 am Like pharaoh I too chose the update when off option & saw the Bluelink update failure message - however there were no error messages on the nav screen, in fact it showed a screen about the new changes! Certainly pays to check afterwards when the last update was performed.
I'm not a lover of Bluelink and I'm a low end user of it.
Before the update I used to have separate volume settings for DAB radio (usually 12) and the USB (16-20 dependent on what was playing), which would stay as appropriate whenever toggling using the steering wheel mode switch: not anymore since the update! Try as I might I can’t see any settings to achieve this. If anyone has found a workaround then please share it!

It seems that, for whatever reason, that facility has been removed by Hyundai/KIA. I spent ages , thinking it must be somewhere - it was there before - but alas, it’s gone.
Sometimes the logic simply baffles me!
