Thanks for confirming Indalo1, thought I was going gaga for a moment! Between that & the ability to see fuel prices on the map @ 60 mph I’d prefer the latter, but seriously why can’t we have both?!😉

As you say, the logic is a bit awry!

The blue link error that people are seeing is when the app asks for the version upon sync(opening the app)is different to vehicle. For example,if the version on sync of the app is v 23. And you update to version v24 via usb. Then the error is the blue link seeing wrong version after update, as the app captures version upon opening, when you close the app and reopen it, it capture the new version and handshakes with the car as they match

This is the reason no one sees failed on the car only the app. As the authentication from user pin / Face ID is only valid for 10 mins the update takes 25mins, so when the car try’s to since back upon completion of the update. It can’t talk to app as your authorisation has timed out hence the fail

Hope this helps

Hi all,

I have recently acquired a 2021 Ultimate and LOVING it so far. I came from a 17plate i20 so a big step up for me and the family. For some reason the system has been updated since 2021.

I'm going to update it myself. The process looks pretty straight forward but Just to double check, which USB port do I use for updating, usb A or usb C? .. or does it even matter?

Thanks all!

They are both usb A ports, use the one on the left.

Good grief, I only sat in the car 10 minutes before posting haha how did I miss that. Could have sworn it was a C.

Thanks for clarifying though, appreciate it.

I see you all sort it out what usb stick is needed for update etc. I would like to point out again that this update is mainly a map update as Hyundai did not gave us anything new in therms of infotainment unit, you would think that my 3 years old car would be worth some cosmetic improvements how the screen or dashboard looks like, but no, not even a single new „sound of nature” 🤣 not to mention apple CarPlay on dashboard or something. I’m very disappointed.

I don’t use the Hyundai maps my go to navigation is Waze.
From all the comments it’s only the maps that are updated on this new software update, so basically it’s not worth the update.
Unless someone spotted something different.

It is if you use the built in sat nav.
Someone did spot something else, it's mentioned in a previous post.

I suspect a new Bluelink App update is in the offing: since upgrading the software/maps, the Bluelink range data are now way out from what the car dash says!

Fully charged, my EV range is still 35 miles but prior to the update it said 37 miles, now it is 22 miles.☹️

Even worse, the fuel was pretty near agreeing before, but now the car says 307 miles when the App says 191 miles!

Technology eh? One step forward…..🤪
