Hi, I recently bought a 2023 Tucson and have been learning the tech differences between this and the 2017 Mazda 6 it replaced. On the Mazda, the phone connection via bluetooth saw all my text message history downloaded, meaning it was easy to refer back to something received earlier. I can't seem to get the same thing in the Tucson. It will list any new message I send during the journey in progress, but a) doesn't download the history off the phone and b) discards the 'in-journey' history once the journey has finished. Is that normal or do I need to make some changes in set up?
I know I can work around this via Android Auto but I'd sooner have the built in Hyundai functions as a day to day default and only use AA if I really must.
Texting history
For the benefit of others I'm going to answer my own question, having spent another hour or two googling. It seems this function is not available within the native infotainment system and what I describe as happening is by design. The only way to access your message history is via Android Auto. As I'm not yet a fan of AA that's a bit disappointing but hey ho.
