If you are referring to what is commonly known as ‘cornering lamps’, then I agree with you. My previous car had dynamic lamps that moved with the steering and I was very disappointed to discover that my ‘Ultimate’ model only has static lamps.

I guess cost cutting has led to ‘Ultimate’ being somewhat less than the appendage might suggest!.

This is the answer I got from Hyundai:

Hi Alan
The vehicle is equipped with Matrix LED headlights, designed to enhance visibility while cornering and prevent dazzling other drivers. These advanced lights automatically adjust by directing the beam around vehicles ahead or oncoming traffic, ensuring clear illumination without the need to manually dip the main beam.
They work by:
• Adaptive Illumination: The system continuously adjusts the light beam to provide the best possible visibility while reducing glare for other road users.
• Selective Beam Control: Using sensors, the headlights detect oncoming vehicles and those in front, dimming specific sections of the beam to avoid dazzling other drivers.
• Enhanced Cornering Visibility: The lights respond to steering input, directing light into bends and curves for improved night-time driving safety.
They are as you can see a better choice for the vehicle rather than the previous model.

I used to own a 2022 Ultimate Hybrid with Tech Pack - in Red (best colour).
I now own a 2025 Ultimate Hybrid - also in Red.
Also have two motorcycles. Honda CB1300 and Honda CBF1000 (also red, of course).

There's an explanation on youtube that literally illustrates how the lights operate.

You don't need cornering lights when you have matrix lights

I agree with that for the most part. However, the addition of dynamic lamps that move with the steering is a real boon out in the countryside with no ambient lighting as found in urban/suburban areas. Such a feature is one of several that I genuinely miss from my previous car.

It depends whenyou set them to come on. I've set mine to 12mph and they work turning into my home road.
