Hi all

Am considering a Tucson, specifically the full non plug in hybrid 230 N Line S

I've seen mention in the specs of the dreaded lane assist. i hated this in my wife's skoda scala, damn dangerous if you ask me, always trying to steer you into a hedge or oncoming cars on the narrow country lanes near me.
Can it be permanently tuned off in the Tucson, or at least permanently tuned to audio warning only? If not, then that's a deal breaker for me and i'll look elsewhere, which is a shame

Thanks

Brighty

No it can't be permanently switched off, requires a 3 second press of button on the steering wheel to deactivate on every start.

It's a bit of a pain but you get used to deactivating it - becomes second nature!

Is that ultimately what your decision comes down to? I guess it's good that you know your own mind!

Are you sure it can be deactivated permanently on the Kodiaq? I thought regulations meant it had to be on by default on new cars?

For what it's worth, turning it off on the Tucson is easier than in many other cars, at least you can do it direct from the wheel without having to go into the infotainment.

Personally I don't find it much of an issue. It doesn't activate until the speed is over 40 mph. I only tend to turn it off on longer journeys, which is easily done on the go, without even taking your eyes off the road.

Never turn it off. Doesn't bother me at all.
