First full week

811 miles and love everything about the car so far

I have been charging on a 3 pin plug boosted to 10 amps (i saw this on U-tube to reduce time and has worked for me)

Monday 60%
Tuesday 70%
Wednesday 80%
Thursday 90%
Friday 100%
Saturday 0% No charge
Sunday 0% No charge

Lots of motorway driving on Auto cruise at speed limits

How does this performance fair so far compared to everyone else , I'd be interested to know

Hopefully the photo has come through below ?

I’m a little confused with those figures…. Are you saying it took you from Monday at 60% to get to 100% by Friday?

Also, which 3-Pin to Type 2 cable did you use?

I agree in reducing the charge from 13A to 10A to keep the domestic mains socket cooler.

When it was delivered it was on 15% so i plugged it in later on and i only got to 60% before I left work and then I plugged it in daily when I had a chance

Then I was messing about in the week getting used to it, but come Friday I just put on charge earlier and before left work it got to 100%

I just put the daily charge percentage just for clarity reference overall consumption for the week

Moral to the story is I now make an effort to plug it in as soon as I can whilst in work (I need space close to warehouse), so far today its on charge at 60% so by the time I shoot off at 15:00 it will be 100% for sure and then when i get home it will be back at 15%

Its the 3 pin standard plug put into a normal plug socket, if you press the button on the cable and hold it you can get it from 6 to 8 then 10 (i thought that was amps but probably misunderstood) so charges in around 6.5 hours ish

It is Amps. 13A being the highest but I wouldn’t use that high a current with a domestic socket.
You were lucky in being given the 3-pin cable. Both my dealer and another owner on the forum have mentioned ‘vehicles built after August will not initially come with the 3-pin cable hence the reason why asked where did you get it from. Obviously your car must have gone through the VIN allocation stage before that cable was not added.

Thanks also for the video link….. I’ll have a look at that later. 👍

Mine is a lease (company) car, so maybe i got 2 cables because of that if they changed the equipment, its the same one as in that video (but i don't use a dodgy extension lead like he does lol)

Goodness….. I see what you mean. I missed that part of the video. That’ll definitely be why he did not use 13A charge rate. Even 10A would be worrying.

Week 2 yesterday, overall MPG going up, although have tried sport mode a few times with a heavy foot

Monday to Friday 100% charge every day, didn't bother on the weekend

How does this compare

Also as a question, Is smart cruise control heavier on fuel than normal throttle driving ?

Some say it uses more fuel as it doesn't anticipate the conditions ahead such as traffic slowing or changes in gradient.

One thing I've found with my HEV: going up a very steep 30mph hill the car will shift down to 2 as I push down on the pedal as bit more. I'm anticipating the increase in gradient but the car thinks I want to increase speed. The same hill with SCC, the car will lose a bit of speed as the gradient increases but then regain it all without shifting out of 3rd gear.

So the SCC clearly feeds back into the gearbox logic. Might make a difference with economy, depending on the situation.

Cheers Jarvis, I will give it a go with the throttle & foot rather than being lazy on way home and see if it makes a difference
