Anti Theft System

Whilst searching online for further protection from theft of my two week old Tucson Ultimate Hybrid, I came across this :-


Does 2023 Hyundai Tucson have anti-theft device?
The vehicle is equipped with a means of anticipating and/or detecting unwanted vehicle intrusion. The vehicle is equipped with an ignition disable device that will prevent the engine from starting if the correct original manufacturer key is not used.

Does this mean that the vehicle cannot be moved using a cloned signal? , or is this an American feature. Grateful on your views.

Yes, it can be started using a cloned signal - how would the car know any different?. But the key turns itself off after a period of time without any movement which helps.

Thank you Alan. I was hoping they would have come up with something unique. I have decided to enjoy the car and not worry about theft.

It seems not all keys even in newer Tucsons go to sleep, so check it out to make sure.
