Hi, I've recently bought a 2019 Tucson 1.6 T-GDI (gamma turbo direct injection) and am finding conflicting info on what engine oil to use. I'm particularly conscious of the benefits of regular oil changes with correct spec for direct injection engines, so want to get this right.
My manual tells me ACEA C2/C3 is the recommended classification and then recommends Helix Ultra 0w/30 for that spec. However the sticker under the bonnet states ACEA A3 for petrol engines (and C3 for diesel). Then most online searches (e.g. Opie Oils) bring up ACEA A3/A5 oils in 5w30. Excepts for Comma and Castrol sites that tell me I need ACEA C3 5w30. So, I phoned my local Hyundai parts department and they said they use ACEA A3 or A5 5W30.
Has anyone else tried to figure this out? 0w30 or 5w30 and A5/A5 or C3 spec?

Presuming that the Owner’s Handbook (Manual) is the one that accompanied the car from the factory when new, then you will not be wrong to use the 0w/30 product recommended at that time. The brand is irrelevant so long as the spec details match the recommended ACEA C2/C3.
Personal choice of brand and price at the time of purchase will determine which oil you use. However, it’s wise to skip the no-name or named brand that you have never heard of previously and stick with well-known labels that provide the right spec. Personally, in the UK, it’s 0w/30 all day long for me in your car.

Thanks for the reply. I'll go for ACEA C3 then in 0W30. Just a bit unnerving as literally the only place that I see 0W30 recommended is in the owner's manual. Every other resource say 5W30 (in either C2/C3 or A3/A5). Here's the relevant sections of my manual - first box identifies I need C2/C3 and second box recommends 0W30 for C2/C3 oil in a gasoline engine.
