Underbonnet hole allows muck into engine bay
Does anyone else have the same issue?
I wouldn't say I have the same issue as I'd never checked until you put this image up. I did have a look and yes my March 2023 delivered car is the same. Initally I thought mine had been welded over but on inspection with my finger it appears it was blocked by caked on mud/dirt which broke up when I touched it. To avoid any furhter ingress I had some 3M sticky cover so I just put one over it. I can see right through the hole essentially into the wheel well where the dirt is getting over the wheel lining and finding its way in. The level of staining is low and less noticeable as the car is black however I could clearly see where water would have come through as there was a water stain from previous.
The reason I say I don't have the same issue is that dirt/water gets everywhere, when I had the bonnet open I could see leaves in the section where the bonnet arm is and in there also a level of mud/dirt on the assembly. If I were to continue moving around the car looking to plug up and holes I'd be there all day. My approach is not to keep the car long enough that any car would start to rust anyway. That is always going to be a "future persons" problem.
