Confused with buttons

Maybe I'm missing a trick but I was getting really confused between the Post and Submit buttons. To me, when I want to post the text I would use the Post button, and got very frustrated to find it didn't. Then realised that I needed to use the Submit version.
Can we get a clear and simple way in which to add a Post to a thread, either by renaming or removing buttons. Other forums don't have this problem, why does this one?

Having a bad day ? There's a quick reply that you 'Submit' a direct response to. Text only.

Then a 'Post reply' to get full options, like pictures etc.

Never seen it as a problem.

It came about as my first post reply, I tried using the Post Reply button and nothing happened. Rewrote my reply three times before I spotted the Submit button and tried that. Hey Presto, it worked! So the question, following your explanation, is; will Post Reply work with a text only response

Rob, hijacking my own post, as there was one from you about how to "like" a post from another user and your instructions didn't seem to tie in with what I could see on the screen, so was asking if anything has changed. Now that post of yours has disappeared......
