My Panram sun roof has started to rattle, its getting worse and its annoying me. I should just turn the radio up. I keep touching parts of the roof to see where the rattle is coming form but cant find it. I've seen this problem on the forum before but wondered what Hyundai have said at your various dealerships , if you have reported the prob.
Suck it up or push them to fix?
Rattling Roof!
I had the very same recently. I did a bit of research and then added a slight bit of lithium grease to the rubbers that make a connection between the sunroof (that moves backwards) and the glass roof (which remains static). This has solved my problem.
Research did suggest only to use a synthetic grease as others could perished the rubber seals over time.
The problem is very annoying, especially when the rest of the car is quite!

Hi, I'm having the same problem, 23-reg N Line with the panoramic sunroof.
It's about 15 months old and has always been bit noisy from the roof lining and sunroof but recently in the warm weather it rattles / clicks / ticks so much that it sounds like it's come loose. When I try to move the mechanisms it's solid though, and the noise doesn't stop when I put my hand on it to damp movement when I'm driving. It does stop when I open it slightly.
Had it back to the dealer twice who 'can't reproduce the noise' (even though I've taken a technician out for a drive in it and they heard it - my local dealer is... not great), they've told me they cleaned all the channels out and lubricated it, it made no difference.
Can you specify which bits you've lubricated with the lithium grease please?

BP77 - I opened the roof and then just coated all the black rubber I could see, as a 'catch all'. I had to go inside and get parts from the back seat as they aren't reachable from the outside with the roof open.

This is what the dealer did to mine when they said they'd "lubricated" it. I asked them to do the seals, they did this. I've got arcs of grease on the glass from where it's blown off in the wind...
And the clicking and rattling noise is worse than before so I've booked it in for a few days next month, as they said if it persists they'll need to remove and refit the sunroof. Not sure I really want them messing with it to that extent, I've no confidence they know what they need to do to sort it but it's driving me mad.
So many problems and disappointments with this car, my first and last Hyundai I think!

If anyone's reading this thread looking for a solution, I sorted mine. I sprayed some Silicone Spray (I used WD40 Silicone Lubricant and not the standard WD40.) onto a microfibre cloth and wiped over all of the edges and rubber seals on and under the sunroof.
This solved the clicking noise immediately..it looks like it's the seals sticking and unsticking together as the car moves along the road, which is why it's worse in the sun.
I then had to clean all the thick engineering grease that the dealers had applied off the inside of the glass. That's was fun
