Hi there, I know I shouldn’t be such a idiot but more than once now I’ve forgot to put the brake on my car and last week someone came into the shop I was in to ask if it was my Tucson that the kids Dad was stopping rolling down the road. I’ve just read the online manual and it says about putting on auto mode. Does this mean when I open the door the brake will go on automatically. Will this always be the case or do I need to keep adding auto on ? I’ve got lucky a few times now and worried I’m going to cause a big accident soon

With the greatest respect, I think you need to have a read through the 'Owner’s Manual’ as there is plenty of information contained therein.
That said, if you are referring to the Autohold feature, then you really need to understand that feature. Those of us who are experienced in these cars with such a feature benefit from rarely, if ever, actually touching the EPB switch. So long as the Autohold feature has been selected at the start of any journey, on switching off the car, the P position on the gear selector and the EPB will both be engaged automatically.
It may be the case in the very latest incarnation of the model that Autohold is selected by default which is a great step forward if that should be the case.
In my case, I have my slightly OCD pre-start regime which I adhere to habitually and that includes bucking my seat belt before anything else, (some complain about the ‘bongs’ they hear that I never do) switching on and pressing the Autohold button then disabling LKA.
I never switch off Autohold, even when negotiating in or out of a tight parking space and I have never found it to be an encumbrance in any way although I have read reports from some who claim it is tricky to use in such situations and therefore they switch it off. I just think they are unskilled drivers! If I’m correct in assuming that your enquiry relates to the Autohold & EPB features, then a little practice plus developing a habit of an easily repeatable start-up regime will avoid such runaway problems. It only takes a few seconds so it’s hardly an onerous task.

Thank you, I had a read online of the manual but will look again or go to a dealership. I’m sure my last car not a Hyundai had the electric handbrake come on when I turned the engine off. So I think I just need to change habits
